Have you always wanted to write a novel but didn't know where to start? This class will help you understand the process of writing a novel so you can get started putting pen to paper. We will focus on everything from generating ideas to developing characters to establishing point of view. We will touch on many elements of fiction (dialogue, scene, etc.), but the emphasis will be on discovering the writing process that works best for you.
Objectives
Upon completing this workshop, you will have:
• clearly defined the premise of your novel
• defined your main character(s) and the point of view/narrative structure
• gained knowledge of how the events of your novel will/might unfold
• established a writing habit that will carry you through the writing of the first draft
• started writing the novel (a completed first chapter will be the goal)
