There are a couple of different ways to start your novel. You can just open up a file and type "Once upon a time." That works for some but it usually makes for confusion by page 100 and chaos at 300. In the Starting Right workshop we'll start another way: learning what your book is about and how to make sure it has the legs to go the distance. We'll talk about character development and we'll answer the question every writer has to ask: why would anyone except mom want to read this? In this four-week workshop Drusilla will share some techniques for developing story questions and story people, we'll talk a lot about plot and drama and a whole lot more. A perfect four-week class for those writers working on a novel or revising. Don't worry if you're a newcomer to the novelist's trade, the atmosphere will be relaxed and friendly.  Class is limited to 12.

Drusilla Campbell is the author of sixteen published novels, including the best-sellers, Hopewell Saga, and Blood Orange. Her most recent release, Bone Lake, is available through through the Book of the Month Club, Literary Guild, Dell Book Club and Mystery Book Club, and will soon be available in paperback. Her first published work, “Piper, What Song?” was named one of the year's best science-fiction short stories. An in-demand teacher and lecturer, Drusilla writes novels that “surprise and capture” her audience, with characters so real readers want to “call them up and invite them to coffee.”
