San Diego Writers, Ink Celebrates
NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)
NaNoWriMo Preparation Workshop
Sunday, October 19
5:30 - 7:30 pm
Fasten your seatbelts! Writing a 50,000 word novel in 30 days is one crazy, exhilarating ride. In this informational and inspirational session, we’ll discuss our own NaNo journeys, sharing strategies to prepare for the kooky month ahead and avoid potholes along the way. We’ll talk about the rewards of committing to this ambitious personal goal, and explain all the “how-to’s” and “why-should-I’s.” Nicole will also lead some pre-writing exercises to get you primed for the wild month ahead when you finally commit to becoming a novelist. www.nanowrimo.org

NaNoWriMo TIGO Celebration
(TBA - more information to follow)
Hosted by Nicole Vollrath and Shelli Sannes
Nicole Vollrath is a two-time NaNoWriMo winner who writes about small town farmers, revivalist preachers and sex. Primarily a short story writer with an attention span to match, November is the one month Nicole is proud to call herself a novelist. Her secret NaNo fuel? Dark chocolate Raisinettes and almonds.
Shelli Sannes is a former journalist who ran her college campus newspaper and later worked for the Calgary Mirror and Sun. Her goal was always to write a novel, now she has completed two with the power and momentum of NaNoWriMo.
