Writer's Read Book Club

Writers learn their craft by taking classes, attending workshops, studying with other writers, by doing the writing itself, and by reading. Especially by reading, some say. Members of this unique book club will study the crafting of the masters. We'll read the works of other writers—contemporary and past—to discover and discuss their use of character, voice, plotting, dialogue, theme, and other techniques, tricks and tools.

This is a drop-in group; no need to register. We invite members of the group to bring light refreshments to share.

August's Book Club selection:

East of Eden by John Steinbeck.  The New York Times Book Review called it "A strange and original work of art."  Barbara Cohen leads the discussion.
