Revision SORRY, CLASS IS NOW FULL/CLOSED
Revision is more than just changing the font! But how does one revise a story or a chapter of a novel? How does one take the words on a page and be bold enough to cut, rearrange, send certain characters packing, abandon scenes and create new ones?
Many first time writers feel daunted after receiving feedback and this workshop will offer strategies for taking that next step. First drafts are often voyages of discovery and with an objective eye we’ll step back and ask pertinent questions about character, about language, about point of view. We’ll also talk about micro revision and the intensely satisfying process of looking at sentences, considering rhythm and our choice of words.
Please come to the workshop with three copies of a draft of a work in progress, -a chapter of a novel or a short story - and be prepared to make bold and daring choices.
