Writers Boot Camp is a reality check and a fire under the chair for both new and seasoned writers in fiction and memoir genres. Through focused discussion and group interaction, Writers Boot Camp will help you identify and reach your short- and long-term writing goals; take accountability for your bad writing habits and figure out how to finally get rid of them (or at least some of them); face up to your methods of procrastination; understand why a stopwatch or the word-count feature on MS Word will help you finish your poem, short story, or book; show you how rejection is a great thing; teach you how to have good relationships with your agent, editor, copyeditor, and marketing director; discover a thing or two that you may want to ignore in your writing feedback workshops; and help you discover that Writer’s Block is a bunch of hooey.

Beth Goldner is the author of a novel, The Number We End Up With, and a short story collection, Wake. Her books have been reviewed by New York Times, Publisher’s Weekly, Kirkus Review, Boston Globe, Orlando Sentinel, among others. Her short stories have appeared in Missouri Review, Massachusetts Review, Blue Mesa Review, Story Quarterly, among others. She is currently working on a chapbook of poetry. She has worked as a medical editor for more than a decade and was Adjunct Faculty in the MFA in Creative Writing Program at Rosemont College. She recently moved to Encinitas from Philadelphia. She is currently unemployed, but finds job searching much more tolerable on the West Coast, where the she can spend a lunch hour, in the winter, sitting on a bench at Moonlight Beach and munch on her Subway sandwich.
